Both of them, if done RIGHT, will work just fine for your website. I do both of this for my websites but not all the time. If I have money for PPC, I save it for times or season where it could be the peak for my products and services.

It's depend on you that which will your want to use. PPC is a best way to popular your products, business, website.. etc and increase the traffic of your website by paid search engines. You need not to do link building and need not to write title meta tags, enrich content and even no need to consider page weight because you pay for ranking. Your ranking will rank high, when you will pay to Search engines.

SEO is best way to rank your website for long time in Search engines in very effective cost. SEO take time some time but your ranking will rank high for long time.

It's fully depend upon you if you want instant traffic to your site then PPC is good but you have to invest more money on it than organic SEO, but in organic SEO you have to wait for required result.

SEO is better but it takes time to see results. PPC can make you broke if you target the wrong keywords.

If PPC makes you broke or go penniless, then that means you have done it all wrong. every marketing strategy if planned right and budgeted right will always bring in profit. but of course, if it is not done right, chances of a good ROI is very low to none at all.

They are both quite different in that you might want to use them in different situations. In the long term it is generally best to go for organic SEO as it will cost you a lot less and once in place should deliver good results. The problem is that it takes time and quite a lot of effort to get it right. If you are looking for quick results then PPC could be an option however if you don't do the right research and get the right keyword it could end up costing you a lot of money.
