I am not using any SERP tools. Doing it manually is always good and trustable also.

Depending on your needs, you can do or use different tools to track your keyword rankings. Some of the tools you can use are:
rank checker - pretty neat summary of your ranking in 3 major search engine
google adpreview tool - a nice way to see your keyword ranking while seeing the competition in terms of ads
google-dance-tool - have a nice comparison on rankings and see if there are anomalies

I believe on manually rank checking on search engines by typing targeted keywords within search box, which gives me more correct results (the result changes as per location)

But you can also use the tool for rank checking, but it will be not accurate as compare to manually rank checking method.

NOT really. First of all, Google uses datacenters to store their indexed websites and it is different for different locations. If your market is in the next state, chances of what will show up in your SERP is different than that of theirs. Second, Google also uses user behavior or the way he searches the net and it affects the way SERP shows up as well. All SEO knows that.

By using the tool from the very start of the SEO process you can say with a confidence whether your site is moving to the top or it is falling in the search results.

I don't think doing it manually would give you an exact results. It would be better if you will use an SERP tool plus doing it manually. 😀
