SEO Future?

I've been reading quite a bit of material on Google recently and I've personally come to the conclusion that sooner rather than later, search engines such as google will almost dismiss the current SEO techniques used today with a couple exceptions. I would think that Keyword rich content, Titles, links etc are and will always be very important, but the older Google gets possibly 99.999% of it's results will be based on content and interaction only? Think about the difference from 2001 to 2006 and how much less value h2 tags etc give to SEO now. (this is all of course an assumption).

Question-!

My question is, from what you all know, is it really worth the time to label images and make sure h1 h2 tags etc are labeled with Keywords ?? and if so what % would you give to the "tried and true techniques" ? At this point I think it's still important enough to spend some time on, but what do you all think??

Re: SEO Future?

Don't "keyword stuff" your pages solely for the purpose of trying to rank. Search engines alter their algorithms on a daily basis so focusing on a longterm SEO strategy is folly.
Of course you can constantly monitor the serps for algo changes and alter your site accordingly - the question is do you have the time? If you don't, then focus on the quality of the content and everything else will fall into place.

I don't think so at all.
Look at craigslist.org, very simple website, ranks 59 on alexa. I am sure they are not doing any SEO stuffes. All they pages are numbered which is not SEO friendly at all.

Re: SEO Future?

Distributing videos through tubemogul.com or trafficgeyser.com can get you ranked higher and faster on Google. But make sure you use the keywords you want ranking for in your description and tags. I agree, the SEO methods of just 5 years ago seem less effective.

Re: SEO Future?

When you make a search for a product or service on Google, Google Automatically detects the IP address and delivers local search results for it. Let’s say you make a search for ‘childrens dentists’, Google automatically assumes that you are looking for a childrens dentist in your city (not a bad guess, eh!) and delivers map results accordingly.

This is what you need to do to list yourself for Google Hyperlocal : Best Acne Medicine SMART LIPOSUCTION Visit the Google Local page, register yourself if you are not registered and list your business with the relevant title, description and category (Make sure you use few keywords (2-3) per listing). Create as many listings as are relevant to your business. (e.g if you operate nationwide, you can create seperate listings for different suburbs across the country)

Once you create a listing, Google will call you up and give you a pin to enter as a verification code….once done, your listing will become live in 24 hours.

Re: SEO Future?

SEO is unlikely ever to be an exact science since the techniques used to promote web pages are constantly evolving as the search engines refine their algorithms to deliver more accurate results whilst combating spam. The efforts of marketers to understand search engine algorithm secrets has resulted in something of a cat and mouse g**e between SEOs and engine developers as they seek to exploit loopholes in the algorithms.

Many SEOs examine and probe engine algorithms in meticulous detail, testing different coding techniques to identify optimal markup; conversely, others swear that content is king – meaning the intrinsic value of a page and its resultant success in terms of SERPs visibility is largely dependant on good copy writing and tight relevance to search terms. When key players at search engine strategies conferences around the world disagree vehemently on the best approach to SEO, yet still deliver formidable results for their respective clients, it clearly illustrates there is as yet no perfect optimization strategy, simply best practice.

Re: SEO Future?

The future of SEO.
As long as Google is still around and still focused on relevancy we will never have to worry about engines showing all ads all the time. Even if Google goes public and becomes the next in a long line of greedy search engines to totally screw up their results, another will come along to take its place. So, no, we will never have to worry about there being only paid listings.

Re: SEO Future?

SEO is the acronym for search engine optimization. SEO is a technique whereby the website is designed and built in a manner that it is able to rank higher in search results for a particular word/phrase.
