Need Partner(s) for Sports Blog

New Member

Hello. My name is Kyle and I am a sophomore in college studying mechanical engineering. I am looking for a partner(s) to help create and run a professional-looking blog based in the topic of endurance sports. My website, whose main layout is almost complete, is located at www.passionispain.com.

Over the past couple years, my affection for extreme endurance sports has grown into an obsession. I am already to competing in endurance cycling and hope to do long-distance running during the colder months. DON’T CONFUSE the events I am describing with races like the Tour de France. The top endurance races around the globe are nonstop, continuous 1-2 day events. For example, the most prestigious race in ultracycling is the Race Across America (RAAM). You can watch a short video here giving a synopsis of the race. Some of the other subgenres will include: ultrarunning, open water swimming, ocean rowing, and other multiday races.

Those interested should have basic skills in writing/editing. Other useful skills (though not necessary) are some knowledge in web design and internet marketing. My primary goal for the website is to spread the word of this little known genre of sports, while my secondary goal is to create a profit through e-commerce, selling advertising space, and affiliate marketing.

If the website shows promise, it may be developed into a small business (an LLC probably) where any initial partners would legally own a portion of the business. I already have a business plan set up and can be sent to anyone who’s interested. Almost no start-up costs will be required. Thank you for your interest.

Re: Need Partner(s) for Sports Blog

Oh my, you give such a lift to my spirits! I have advised small, new and home businesses for years. Much of this consists of young people who want to know how to become famous clothes designers or own the next hot restaurant. Of course, they never have any experience or business knowledge whatsoever.... The rest of it often consists of giving advice on how to pick up the pieces of the disasters they end up creating.

You've obviously given this a lot of thought already and I commend you on that. I looked at the beginnings of you website. Here are some thoughts for how I would proceed if I were you. Write a simple 'day in the life' type of blog about your experiences. You would be surprised how things like that can catch on. A catchy, attention grabbing title for each story are key. Use social networking to promote it. You can go to my website, thatsitforless.com and click on 'promote it' for some free ideas on promoting yourself in many different ways - all free.

I noticed there is an unformed 'store' tab on your website. I just worked this morning with a young guy who is starting a bar sports league - cornhole tournaments, beer pong leagues, all kinds of interesting ideas. One thing we came up with for him can be found on my website. Go to my website and on the 'Our Specials' page you will find a t shirt company. The name escapes me at the moment, but their ad says 'design online'. Go to their website and down on the left of their site you will see 'sell shirts'. They will provide a webstore for you, which can be incorporated into your blog. You design t shirts, hats, sweatshirts, whatever you want with your logo or whatever you want and they will put it all on your 'store'. They handle all the orders, payments, etc. and pay you 15% of all sales. That way you get an instant, all set up store with no upfront costs. Any company that you see on my website is safe to use, I've used most of them myself at one time or another, including this one.

When you have a more fully formed site, sign up with Commission Junction, Linkshare and Google Affiliates and find all of the companies who do anything remotely related to your business idea. Many won't accept you because you're too new - but many will. That will fill up your site with ads.

Find other people who blog about similar subjects and leave comments on their site, linking back to your site. Backlinks are extremely important.

Notice how you have done all of this yourself, with pretty minimal work. A store set up for you at no cost, ads filling your site at no cost and hopefully, an interesting story or several from you and your friends. That's enough for now - you can't do it all at once.

If I can be of any help or offer any advice, please feel free to contact me! And Good Luck!!!

There is two types of forms as business.one is single person.and second is partnership.it the single person can not solve the huge problem.but when the two person's mind are create they can solve all the the problem and they are speedy to take a design.so partners are solve problem.

Re: Need Partner(s) for Sports Blog

I’d be interested to see pieces on how the Internet is changing how the news business and sports leagues interact, particularly with regard to images – still and video. Technology has caught up to old rules, and anyone inside the stadium can do a live broadcast. Be interesting to see some of the talent in sports communications opine.and it is so good for all the partners.
