Keywords are key to any SEO for a site. If you do no resaerch, you are doing exactly what justinparker said, "shooting from the dark".

In SEO keyword is the most important thing so while doing seo this is mandatory that
1.To choose a right keyword.
2.To search that how competitive your keyword is.

If you place too many outbound links on your pages then it (SEO efforts) can be hurt. I keep mine around 30 or 40. Google claims sites shouldn't have more than 110 or 120. However, 100 outbound links looks spammy to me.
