XHTML is extended version of HTML. In fact, it includes more restrictions and be cleaner. Just learn HTML, it`s ok.

No... You do not have to learn XHTML to learn HTML. It's like asking if you want to learn COBOL, do you need to learn C++. They are two different languages.

HTML and XHTML are different standards for coding web documents. XHTML is a reformulation of HTML 4 as an XML 1 application. So it's syntax has been changed to be XML compliant. HTML 4 was an SGML application.

With the advent of HTML5, many think that XHTML will eventually fall by the wayside. Time will tell.

Can be compared to HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and XHTML (extensible HTML) to be like the comparison between identical twins, and since there are only a few simple points that we can point out that it really is different. This is due to the fact that different sections derived from the HTML only to comply with the standards of XML. The primary difference between the two heads of militancy is the relative comparison with the various sections of HTML. While it is possible for a person in coding HTML to walk away with some lapses in the structure and coding, which is no longer possible with the various sections. There is a need to come up with various sections of the fact that HTML has become a complex with its browser specific pages coded in HTML do not always look the same in all browsers.

Re: I wanted to learn HTML, not XHTML, aren't they different

The most important difference between the two programming languages is that the Hypertext Markup Language, or HTML, is an application of SGML (Markup Language generalized standard), 1 and allows the author omitted by some and use attribute minimization.2 Extensible Markup Language hyperlink, or XHTML, is an application of XML (Extensible Markup Language) 0.3 It does not allow omission of any signs or limit the use of the attribute. However, it provides a shorthand notation for empty elements, for example, we could use instead of

and not HTML. It must be an XML document match the shape well, which, among other things, means that there must be a sign of the end of each mark the beginning, which must be closed by overlapping order.4 right when analyst XML has encountered an error related to the document is well-formedness, must be aborted, while the expected parser for HTML to try to recover and continue.
