Well, one of the tools that you can use is Google's Webmasters Tools. They actually list some of your pages that are either broken, not found or are showing errors. all you have to do is register with them. Another thing you can do to check this is by checking if your pages are W3C compliant - if it is not, then there are error.

There are many online tools for check your broken links on internet. I use Google webmaster tool. It shows all errors (like broken links, duplicate Meta uses page, duplicate Title uses page.. etc), Google indexing .. etc for my websites.

Yes I also agree with above reply that google webmaster tool is one of the best way to know about broken link in our website. Also I would like to suggest one another thing is xenu. For using this xenu first of all you should download it and install it in your system then after you can check deadlinks for any particular websites. it works very well as webmaster tool.
