Social Bookmarking refers to web based applications that enable us to store bookmarks online instead of in our favourites or bookmarks on our computers. The immediate advantage of this is that we can access our bookmarked sites from any computer - even a mobile phone.
However bookmarks also have a distinct advantage over search engine results. Searching the internet with a search engine, no matter how good, means that the information is selected by computer software that attempts to determine meaning.

Yahoo groups is a hybrid email newsletter/forum group where members can share their photos, messages and links. You can make use of the forum feature by allowing members to post messages on the group forum or email out the messages. Members post messages to a specific group email address. You can start your own Yahoo group for your forum or blog or join another Yahoo group that serves your needs.

Due to the popularity of other media offering "groups" services that as such of Yahoo's, there aren't really that much users of that site anymore. Also, because a lot of people has been spamming it for the last few years, people got tired of it and are not usually using it anymore. if you would notice once you get to that site, there aren't really that much "groups" for people but only those advertisers.
