Of course it does. I mean why in the world would you use 301 redirects at the first place but to redirect SEO values and traffic to the new page you have created - well, of course given that all elements are in place, and that you are doing it right, then you will get good SEO benefits. There are factors to use when doing 301s like adding canonical tags, redirecting directly and no loops
