Hello Friends

1)Google Local: If you don’t already have one Create an account on Google Local. Enter your company name, address, phone number and website. Verify the information with a postacard or telephone call. In a few weeks you will help you get a map listing for your company name or industry and town.
2)Google Coupons: Coupons are a great way to bring new customers into your business or remind old customers that you’re still around. Google has a free coupon tool that puts your coupon on relevant local searches.
3)Google Base: Google base is part of Google’s one box service. Google uses it to try giving the most appropriate answer from different data sources. If you are selling products you can upload feeds automatically into Google Base and often get preferential placement. You can also upload your business, or special event.
4)Yahoo Local: Yahoo local is a directory organized by category and geographic location. You can get a basic listing in Yahoo Local for free. People searching for your business or industry can find your listing
5)Get Reviews: An integral part of the Yahoo Local listings are reviews. Ask your good customers to write reviews for you on Yahoo local. Businesses with higher ratings will get preferential listings.

Re: Ways to Promote your Local Business for Free??

1. Start a free blog. You can do this at one of several places, but blogger.com and wordpress.com are the best. You are an expert in your business which is why you started it in the first place. Your blog name should be something that your target customer usually would enter in a search engine.
2. What are the most common questions your customers ask you? Create a video response to your questions and post it on video sites such as YouTube.com.
3. Create a Squidoo Lens at squidoo.com that talks about your products in your area. Make sure that it links back to your blog. Add your video on squidoo and your blog by embedding your YouTube video.
4. Add your sites to blog search engines like Google Blog Search and to ping tools such as pingomatic.com and pingoat.com
5. Bookmark your blog and any interesting post that you make to social bookmarking sites such as digg.com, mixx.com, propeller.com, del.icio.us. You can get an entire list at socialmarker.com Repeat the process as often as you like and soon you will start seeing traffic on your blog. Make sure you interact with people through comment boxes. Use your blog in your e-mail signature and in response to other related blogs if you make any comments

Have a nice day

Re: Ways to Promote your Local Business for Free??

1)Start a Twitter account with your business name as the "username" and your first and last names as the "name".
2)If your business has a website, post it. If not, post your business phone number and/or email so that potential customers can get in touch with you. Also post a photo of your business, logo, or even yourself.
3)Find Twitter users in your area. How do you do this? One way is by clicking on the "Find People" tab at the top of any Twitter page. Enter the name of your city or area in the "Who are you looking for" box. You should get a ton of responses with users in your area.. "follow" these people and a good number of them will follow you back.
4)Another way to find followers in your area is to click on the username of some of the people you follow and see if any of their "followers" also live in your area.
5)The best way to find potential customers in your area is to use the search bar in the middle of the Twitter page. You can enter your city name and click the search button.
6)Advertise your business! After you've acquired a few hundred or so followers (this should only take a few days) start sending tweets about your business. Offer specials and incentives. If you have a website - promote that. To keep track of how well Twitter is working for you, you may want to offer a special discount to any customer who found you on Twitter.

Thanks

Re: Ways to Promote your Local Business for Free??

1. Make your reader visualize they have already bought your product in your ad. Tell them what results they have gotten and how it makes them feel. They'll already become emotionally attached before they buy.
2. Turn your ad into an article. It could be a story, or how-to article. This will lead them into your ad without them knowing it's an ad. They'll already be interested when they get to your sales pitch.
3. Make sure you show your reader that they are getting a bargain. Tell them the usual price you sell your product for is $99. Then tell them if they order today they can buy it for $**.95.
4. Direct your ad headline to your target audience. Your readers will feel important and belong to a select group of people who buy your product. For example; "Attention Accountants! Discover A New Way To Increase Your Client Base!"
5. Tell your reader how fast they can receive your product or service in your ad. Their buying decision may be based on how fast they can receive your product. They may need it by a certain deadline.

Thanks

Re: Ways to Promote your Local Business for Free??

Hi

1.Classified Ads : There are plenty of classified ad directories on the internet where you can post ads for free, two such sites being Gumtree and Vivastreet.

2. Send out press releases : Many small businesses consider the prospect of getting press coverage unattainable. However, a good story submitted well has every chance of making the news, and best of all it’s free.

3. Start a blog : Starting a blog is an excellent way of engaging your existing audience as well as attracting new customers. However, blogs do take time and patience so only start one if you have the time to put into it.

4. Participate in relevant forums : Online forums are used and viewed by hundreds of people, and there’s almost always likely to be a couple of forums based around your industry. Participate in these forums through making relevant posts – many forums allow you to include a link to your company in your signature.

5. Cross-Promotion : Find non-competing companies in your industry and suggest cross-promoting your two products, perhaps through adding links on your websites or including flyers in mail shots.

Re: Ways to Promote your Local Business for Free??

Hi guys

1. Write a press release on a new product or offering and send it to some free press release distribution sites. Follow their guidelines for submission so you don't waste your time editing and re-doing work.
* 24-7PressRelease.com
* PRLog.org
* 1888PressRelease.com
2. Send the press release to your local media outlets, or any niche media outlets that may be interested in what you do.
3. Update your Google Maps Listing, make sure the information is accurate, and then have them verify your ownership via mail or SMS message.
4. Find a social media site that pertains to your niche, sign up, make a profile and participate. Don't start off trying to sell your product – you'll be tarred and feathered. Be a helpful part of the community first, mix in brand messages later.
5. Join a forum and contribute to your online community. Use indirect messages for sales such as a forum signature or your forum user name.
6. Talk to the locals or others in your business – this is a great opportunity to request and share some link love.
7. Comment on blogs that are relevant to your Web site's topic and be sure to leave your URL. Even if a nofollow tag is attached, you could gain a bit of traffic.

Thanks to all friends

Re: Ways to Promote your Local Business for Free??

Hello,

Create a Lens at Squidoo: Squidoo has a nice easy to use interface that allows you to give information to your visitors. You can talk about your business specifically or the services or products you provide.

LinkedIn: Join LinkedIn and get connected with people you know and make connections with people you don’t through introductions. Look at the new Questions and Answers section and try and be genuinely helpful. Follow the axiom of ‘Givers Gain’ and you may generate a few leads for yourself from your goodwill.

Email Signatures: Be sure to add your URL to all of your outgoing email. Try adding your mission statement, or a catchy phrase to help people understand what you do. Change it a several times a year so people notice it again.

Syndicate Your Content and Ideas: Take advantage of article distribution Services like EZineArticles, ISnare, and IdeaMarketers to spread your message and approach. Use them to bring leads to your site by offering things like free ebooks or PDF’s that they can download after entering their contact information.
