Some good Tips for the beginner Bloggers

New Member

Hello,

When you do write your blog it may be good for you but some times its not good for your readers. so always keep in mind these tips when you are going to start a new blog.

# Choose a topic that you know, like, and are passionate about. This way you will never get bored and will keep your audience always interested and asking for more.

# Pick a topic where there is not a lot of competition. If your topic is too common, try addressing it from a particular angle or focus on a specific niche. For example, there are many sites that talk about cars, but few that specialize in only one brand, and even fewer that focus on only one model. The key to be successful is to find a specific enough topic with a large enough audience.

# Open a Blogger account. It is free and easy to use. That way, you won’t have to invest in costlier platforms like MovableType or TypePad before you have the chance of finding out if blogging is for you.
# Use a minimalist template, preferably one with a white background. This format is easier to read and pleasant to the eye when you combine it with color pictures.

# Use pictures to dress up your blog entries and give your blog a more professional appearance. You can find excellent pictures at a very low cost in istockphoto.com, or even free in Flickr (don’t forget to ask the owner of the picture for permission before you use it).

# In one of your blog’s side columns, list six or seven links to authoritative sites related to your topic. When the search engine robots visit your blog, they will find these links and your blog will benefit by association.

# Write in simple language, short paragraphs and using bullet points. These are essential guidelines for writing on the web, and will make your posts easier to read and understand.

# Always link out to the sources you use to document your posts. This is not only good etiquette but also a way to promote your blog and get links: when the people you link to find out that they’ve been linked to, they will most likely link to your post from their site or blog.

# Check your posts for spelling and grammatical errors. This will make your blog look more professional and will increase the probability of other people linking to it.

# Use labels to categorize your posts and keep your blog neatly organized. Blogger recently modified its software to allow the use of labels.

Re: Some good Tips for the beginner Bloggers

SEO is an important part of blogging. You don't just want to be writing content after content and no one there to read it, no one wants that to happen. So, there are some important white hat SEO tips that a beginner blogger must know and follow as well.
Now you should be ready to go through with SEO tips for blogging:

* Blogging platform: When you start blogging on platforms like Blogger, Wordpress, Typepad or anyother platform for blogging, your 80-85% of SEO work is already done by these blogs. Blogs themself are search engine friendly and all the search engines love to crawl blogs. So what you have to do is that try to fill that 20% SEO gap as much as possible.
* Quality content is the key: Provide good quality content in your blog, if the content is good then only your visitors are going to stick to your blog posts to read it, else they will just skip your blog and your bounce rate will go up.
* Unique content: In order to get a good content make sure you don't copy it from some other website or blog. Copying content will benefit you in no way at all instead it can lead your blog to be penalized by the search engines and the SERP (search engine result page) will go down.
* Quality keywords and phrases: Add good quality key phrases to optimize your page for SEO, don't just focus on single keyword, describe your page well in about 160 words and choose your keywords wisely. Don't stuff unnecessery key words.
* Use targeted keywords in Headlines: Use your targeted key phrases as headline tag(H1, H2 etc). This provides more value to your targeted keywords than that of other words.

Re: Some good Tips for the beginner Bloggers

Most a-list bloggers will have a post explaining whether or not they accept guest posts and what their requirements are. Read it carefully and follow the guidelines when making your post.
But your research shouldn’t stop there. Hopefully you’ve been reading your “target blog” for a while and know what kind of articles the blogger prefers.
Here’s another important tip: search the blog and see how your post idea compares to what is already there. This is especially important with the high-ranking blogs—you’ll want to be sure you are sending something unique. Bonus points if you can find a topic that hasn’t been mentioned on the blog in a while

Re: Some good Tips for the beginner Bloggers

Hello,

Here are some tips I think you’ll find particularly helpful for landing a guest post on a highly ranked, high traffic blog.

Believe in Yourself:

Here’s the wonderful think about the blog world: you have the same access to the a-list bloggers as everyone else. Don’t underestimate your God-given talents. The successful bloggers, after all, had humble beginnings just like you. The worst thing that can happen is your post doesn’t get accepted—you’ll never know until you try.

Do Research:

Most a-list bloggers will have a post explaining whether or not they accept guest posts and what their requirements are. Read it carefully and follow the guidelines when making your post.

But your research shouldn’t stop there. Hopefully you’ve been reading your “target blog” for a while and know what kind of articles the blogger prefers.

Here’s another important tip: search the blog and see how your post idea compares to what is already there. This is especially important with the high-ranking blogs—you’ll want to be sure you are sending something unique. Bonus points if you can find a topic that hasn’t been mentioned on the blog in a while.

Bring Your A-g**e:

“Give your best content away” –I’ve seen this advice several times from blogging gurus. This is especially true when trying to guest post for an a-list blogger. Most of these guys have several posts to choose from every week (if not daily). Make sure you have chosen your most helpful, informative, entertaining, unique, and ingenious content for your a-list guest post.

Note: I prefer to go ahead and write/send a whole post (instead of asking permission first). I think this is much more efficient, but there are different schools of thought here.

Be Patient

This one is a must for dealing with a-list bloggers. A successful blogger manages a flood of email daily and it may take a while for you to get an answer. Be prepared to wait at least a week (probably longer).

Here’s an example: I recently submitted a guest post (re: fitness) to a self-help blog. I waited about a week before contacting them to make sure they had received my submission. The editor responded, saying he receives about 50 posts a week and it usually takes him two weeks to respond to a guest post proposal.
