A great tool (mostly excel spreadsheets) to use for evaluating a business can be found at http://www.jaxworks.com/

I have looked at http://www.bplans.com/ but there products seem to be very expensive. Trying going to the small business administration they have a host of free tools as well as othe resources you should review

There are a lot of sites out there that provide you example of free business plans. Just search free sample plans on google. These plans can jump start your planning process

Re: Business Planning Software or Tools

Automate Your Business Plan is the best software we have seen. It is used in every SBA Business Information Center (BIC Center), Women's Business Development Center, and 1-Stop Capital Shop in the United States. The software is available here.
