I don't want to offend anyone, by any stretch of the imagination. However, since this subject matter could be viewed as purely subjective, you could probably see disagreement coming like Anna Nicole Smith at a VFW Hall.
I know this thread is "FAMOUS ad slogans", but I wonder if we could start a parallel thread called "LEGENDARY ad slogans". Because "It's The Real Thing" is legendary. "My Moto" isn't.
To me, the "My Moto" campaign was a classic example of advertising being done by people who didn't understand that advertising is a science. The most important feature of a cellular phone is NOT that it's the coolest looking phone at the disco. The important feature is that I can get a signal in the lowest level of the parking garage under my apartment. Or that the battery lasts long enough for me to finally get OFF hold when I call my favorite radio talk show.
If the most important feature of your cell phone is that the other dancers in the nightclub think it's sexy, your parents shouldn't have gotten you one.
Orange is a successful mobile phone brand in the UK and they are very creative with their advertising, focusing primarily on building the brand, not the feature set of their phones.
