It depends on the scope of your project - are you just updating content if so how many pages or are you asking for graphic/layout changes?

I think you could find someone who would write it for less than 5 cents a word I would look on Outsourcing to Freelance Programmers, Web & Logo Designers, Writers, Illustrators on Elance

Depending on the topic and the expertise needed you can usually expect to pay 5-10 cents per word which is pretty standard. Many writers also have a minimum charge and discount for multiple articles that you need done.

Alot depends if you are using a domestic or international writer in most places outside the US i.e. Canada and India you can get the writer for less than in the US

It will differ based on experience and where the person is located. We have found some good writers in Canada and because of the wage scale difference you maybe able to get a good deal.
