Whence cometh my Google description

(@Anonymous)
New Member

if it's nowhere on the page? I'm not in DMOZ for that term that I can
see, so where's it likely from?
with some I can see where they're from as they're on the page so I
know where to tweak to improve them, and hopefully the click-through
rate, but if the words are from some exterior source I'm baffled.

It's obvious.

Are you using a PPC feed that is from a company that geotargets its results?
Perhaps the indexing server is in a different country to you and is seeing
different results from a feed?

The Google description I see is

"POSITIONING SEO Services available from Kruse Internet Services UK"

When I view source of Google's cache it's your meta description tags
content. So looks like you've changed that meta tag recently.

>BB

If you do the exact search with "" -

"POSITIONING SEO Services available from Kruse Internet Services UK"

No results are found currently, showing that though Google uses the
description meta tags content for listings, it doesn't use it as part
of the ranking algo.

I looked in the cache too. I suppose a consequence of my frequent
updating is that I lose track sometimes. Anyway, ta for having a look.

"meta" description if you got one. Otherwise it picks the top part AFAIK
