Hello
I am a psychology major currently, but I am thinking of double majoring in psychology and either marketing or advertising, but I was wondering what are the difference between a marketing major and an advertising major.
Thanks

I did both and they were totally different. Marketing was more to the side of economics though, while advertising can be more of a humanities type (depends on the school too).
Anyway, I suggest you should first think what you wanna do and go from there not the other way around - learn something and then see how it can be useful.

Advertising and marketing are commonly misinterpreted as the same thing. While advertising is a part of marketing, and marketing would fail without advertising, they are actually two distinct disciplines. The various majors available for marketing and advertising reflect these symbiotic differences.
