You can submit your site and sitemap in google webmaster tool for indexing your site faster. Indexing in google may take time for some sites.

@johnbmitchell is right. You can also do some link building stuffs like social bookmarking, directories, as well as blog commenting from reputable websites. Submitting to DMOZ directory, sending pings, and other webmaster tools from search engines are also great ways to get indexed fast.

The posts and new pages in my site gets indexed in more or less a day. Depends on what I do to make them see it. Anyways, it doesn't really matter how long it takes them to index your pages because it is the content that matters. Even if your pages gets indexed in seconds, as long as you have crappy content, there wouldn't be any effect at all (at some point the effect could be bad for your site). Anyways, you can create a sitemap.xml and submit it to google webmaster tool to help speed up crawlers indexing your site.
