SEO Best Practices - How to Plan a Execute a Proper SEO Strategy

SEO is different for EVERY SINGLE website because NO WEBSITE is the same. Every website should have its own strategy in order to maximize rankings as well as being flexible in order to adapt with the ever-changing Google algorithm. Now how do you start out with SEO?

Why should you do this before even optimizing your website? Because without the correct keywords to target, you won't be able to correctly optimize your site. There are things to consider such as keyword density, h1 tags, h2 tags, and etc, which will be focused around the keywords you will target. You need to find the right keywords to target that have a good search volume, because you don't want to target keywords that have little search volume, or your website will receive very little traffic. Also, in order to properly plan your SEO strategy, you must be able to analyze your competition and develop a strategy to outrank them.

Second, you must do on-page SEO

Once you know you keywords, you will optimize your website with these keywords in order to better inform the search engines which keywords you are targeting. You need to factor in things like keyword density, bolded and underlined words, h1/h2 tags, sitemaps, proper navigation, proper canonicalization, etc.

Third, you must have proper off-page optimization

Off-page optimization is the most important part of SEO. This is what determines your website authority in Google's eyes and it has a direct effect to your website rankings depending on the quality of your off-page optimization. Google looks for websites that point back to your own website and determines the popularity of your website based on something called backlinks. The more quality backlinks there are pointing to your website, the higher you will rank for your targeted keywords. Like I said before, every SEO strategy is different because no two websites are the same, so you must plan your off-page optimization according to each individual situation.

These are just basic SEO tips that I thought I should share to you all. This advice that I have shown you is from years of being in the SEO consultant field. Doing SEO by yourself may save you money initially but it may cost you in the long run. By having somebody effectively plan your SEO strategy and properly execute it is key to running a good online marketing campaign.
