html to CMS? Is this possible?

(@Anonymous)
New Member

I have a tableless html site that is taking forever to update each page.
It would be easier if CMS could be used to add and update the site.
I don't want to change the layout of the site just have the ability to upload and change content.
Is this possible? What would be the best way of doing this?

Thanks

Re: html to CMS? Is this possible?

Actually it is possible. You can use "CMS Made Simple" as your back-end program. It will be easier for you to update pages. The use of tables is quite outdated, you can use a DIV based layout and CSS for styling.

To customize the templates in CSS made simple, you just a drag and drop. You can also convert your HTML file into XML and then later use it as your theme. 😀

Can always hire a designer if you're hard-coding (i.e. not using a software application to create your sites for you)

Yes it definetly is. But you'll need to know your CMS structures - e.g. modules, correct naming and filing for Joomla. You can easily find articles on google on how to do this.

Re: html to CMS? Is this possible?

I just recently set up a client using CushyCMS ( http://www.cushycms.com ). This turned out to be extremely simple to set up and for the client to use. You just create an account, add the website ftp information, add simple div class to the text you want to be editable and it all works itself out from there.

If you don't want to change the site look/feel you'd have to port your theme to whatever CMS you chose.
