Re: Header tags in SEO

Heading tags label your headline so that search engines will recognize it as important on your web page.I have to say H1 is vital, not only for accessibility but for SEO for sure! I use H1 - H6 if needs be and I have many sites page one of Google, and the results also pass along to Bing.Usually it's used in combination with clickable logo image that replaces text in your H1 tag.

Re: Header tags in SEO

Header tags are very important as part of google optimization. You will have to put these tags to all WebPages of your website with your main keyword.Reply with quote I have read various blogs and forums which suggest that many site designers don't bother to use H1 tags however they can be useful in SEO purposes.

Re: Header tags in SEO

I think you are misinterpreting the question (note that I didn't say "you are completely wrong!" ). Your use of the word "widely" is different to the OP's. Nobody is suggesting that we use more than one

per page. If you look at the OP's post, they are wondering why

s aren't more widely used by webmasters. They aren't asking why webmasters don't use more than one per page:

Re: Header tags in SEO

Heading tags are the main tool for accessibility, and they help to create a good page structure. Well worded titles also tips on the search engines for relevant content, but any old H1 heading is not valid. If your title says: "Trains" is not useful for search engines is one that is more specific, such as "Steam locomotives, 1848-1930."
