Re: Difference between Internet Marketing and Internet Advertising

arketing is basically the whole approach you take to sell your product or service, while advertising is just one part of the marketing pie. An internet marketing company may perform tasks such as developing a website, doing all the SEO, establishing your brand, providing content, copywriting, public relations, and ad creation. An internet advertising company will focus on only the ad part of the business.

The difference between Marketting and advertising:
Advertising:
The paid, public, non-personal announcement of a persuasive message by an identified sponsor; the non-personal presentation or promotion by a firm of its products to its existing and potential customers.
Marketing:
The systematic planning, implementation and control of a mix of business activities intended to bring together buyers and sellers for the mutually advantageous exchange or transfer of products.

Very true!
The difference between the online advertising and marketing lies on two points:
- whether it costs money or not. Advertising often costs money where marketing like facebook and twitter are usually free.
- whether it has a personal touch or not. Things like facebook and twitter often have a person on the other end of the internet to post things and to respond to things.

When I work for a site for daily deals, I had to work on our online marketing which involves facebook twitter and emails.

Advertising:*The paid, public, non-personal announcement of a persuasive message by an identified sponsor; the non-personal presentation or promotion by a firm of its products to its existing and potential customers.
Marketing:*The systematic planning, implementation and control of a mix of business activities intended to bring together buyers and sellers for the mutually advantageous exchange or transfer of products.

After reading both of the definitions it is easy to understand how the difference can be confusing to the point that people think of them as one-in-the same, so lets break it down a bit.

^au contrare, in either of the options, you can have choose if you like to pay or do it for free. you can advertise your products and services for free by asking your friends to post it in their blogs or site. once you get a good customer and you request them to say something about you in places like facebook can be a good advertisement. using things like SEO can be a good and free to market your site....

Re: Difference between Internet Marketing and Internet Advertising

I'm writing an essay about marketing and advertising. I have to explain the differences between populist and elitist strategies in advertising. I'm confident that I have the gist of the two terms however I need sources from the internet. Articles would be great. Does anyone know of a good marketing or advertising strategy/history website? BTW we are not allowed to use Wikipedia. Thank You.

Re: Difference between Internet Marketing and Internet Advertising

In marketing we promote a website whereas in advertising we inform the people about the website. In marketing we make it certain that the website has the top rank. More work is done in marketing than in advertising.
