In terms of SEO factors, it can give a very minimal link juice or link factor that could increase your position in search engines. In terms of marketing in the forum, not really for all niche. There are some those sites like digitalpoint wherein you could make money but only with seo, website design etc market. for other products, it might be difficult as most forums are filled with spammers.

Posting on Do Follow Forums can really help boast your rank in SERP but you need also to mix with other techniques such as article submission and blog commenting.
