Re: Seeking Business Opportunity

Shirley, I don’t want to keep harping on your posts, but obviously you are soliciting for business, which is fine. Lets be frank, sourcing Chinese products has huge cost benefits, however achieving those benefits are all too often hair pulling experiences.

I don’t doubt your company, it may be the best sourcing company in China, I don’t know. But lets be honest here, I’m new to this forum but I believe that honesty is the very core of good business. I’ve read some of you other posts, it all sounds great, but if you have truly been in this business then you know as well as I do that more often than not things do not go as smoothly as planned. It’s not as simple as translation and giving a buyer a list of factories, it is getting your feet in the mud and trucking along.

China can and will save western companies money if done the right way. Honestly I’ve seen more failure than success. Translation, business practices, cultural differences as it pertains to the work place all have to be put into the equation. I’ve been in the sourcing business for years and I know the extreme headaches that come along with it. China is a Mecca of production, but without very clear goals, very clear instructions, and very clear leadership, you might as well cancel it. I’ve seen multi-million dollar deals go down the drain due to mistakes that could be classified as ridiculously simple.

I’m not trying to dump on you, but westerners are not just blind to the fact that outsourcing is the answer to all problems. I wish you luck, but above all be honest, be direct, be confident, this is the western business practice.
