I run an outbound telemarketing company, we provide appointment setting, lead generation, attendee generation and market research, some of our clients are US companies and we want to move more into the US market now that we have a base in Canada.
Is there a call for our services, is the English accent seen as a plus?
Your comments welcomed.

Re: Is there much call for my business in the USA
I think that telemarketing calls have really decreased since the do not call list was put in place in the US. I think if you got through the answering machines and finding people who are not on the do not call list your accent would be a plus. Unless you are using skype or something similar it could get pretty expensive. I would use your Canadian operation to make the calls it is cheaper and their labor costs are about 60% of the US

I agree I think that the accent would be a plus but it is going to be challenging to do it on the B to C side, the B to B should be ok

You can use Skype to reduce your cost - you can call the US from Canada for free!!!
Regarding your business, I think you could do fairly well if you differentiate your practice. Most firms doing this are based in the US if you can offshore it at a lower cost you may gain a price advantage
