Dear SBFers,
Have you ever had a friend that gave really good advice? Someone that always seemed to have a unique perspective and keen insights? Well, that is how my friends have described me. It is how people in general describe me.
I want to find a way to use my abilities to support myself. My background is a combination of high tech communications, marketing and general business. I understand the difference between a P&L, a balance sheet and a cash flow. People are my favorite observational target and I have learned a great deal from what I have seen.
Since I am a big believer in honesty, I would like to also share that I have had problems looking for a job because I am 57. I am plump and female. I could use insights on how to improve my presentation. Online, people take me seriously and respectfully. In person, they might give me short shrift as most people don't expect keen insights from a plump, motherly-looking person of 57. Indira Ghandi, Margaret Thatcher and Marie Curie aside, there is an issue with being an older woman.
I need work and I do work hard. I came here to see if I could start over as a consultant.

A couple of recommendations - look at the sites www.elance.com and www.guru.com they post consulting jobs. Also look at www.peakstrategy.com for consulting resources. Good luck!
