Re: Writing your own business plan

Hello friends

The primary value of your business plan will be to create a written outline that evaluates all aspects of the economic viability of your business venture including a description and analysis of your business prospects.

Since the My Own Business, Inc. course is broken down into six**** of the most important topics to consider in starting or operating a business, your business plan can easily be organized into this same format. Included in this session, and in each of the following sessions, there is one-page business plan template, which you can fill in and print. (Session 2 contains templates for both Sessions 1 and 2.) When you put these all together, you will have completed your personalized, overall plan.

Thanks for all friends

Re: Writing your own business plan

Hello
Before you put "pen to paper", decide the type of business plan you need:

* Basic plans are short (often under 10 pages plus appendices etc.); relatively quick to prepare (under one or two months); use limited external assistance; need few drafts; and require much more researching than writing. They are somewhat more difficult to prepare than anticipated - all parts equally difficult. They are frequently used to assess the viability of a business or for internal/personal use and they are rated as important/useful for the business.

* Comprehensive plans are longer than basic plans; require some months to prepare; make slightly greater use of external help; and require somewhat more time researching than writing. They are more difficult to prepare than anticipated, especially the financial projections and market analysis parts. They are often used to help raise venture capital/equity or bank loans, and they are viewed as being critically important/useful to the business.

Re: Writing your own business plan

Hello friends

Each day, several hundred people scour web sites such as this one, looking for help with a stressful task: writing their first business plan.

That's unfortunate. Writing a business plan doesn't have to be all that difficult. Sure. You need to write the right sort of business plan. And you need to collect the appropriate information for the right sort of plan. Finally, you will need to create a professional financial forecast--something that looks like you're a reasonable person to trust a bunch of money to. But none of this should overwhelm you.

Seriously. If you're beginning the process of starting a new business, you should find the steps required to write and then use a business plan the least of your worries. Each day, several hundred people scour web sites such as this one, looking for help with a stressful task: writing their first business plan.

Re: Writing your own business plan

Size your business plan to fit your business. Remember that your business plan should be only as big as what you need to run your business. While everybody should have planning to help run a business, not everyone needs to develop a complete formal business plan suitable for submitting to a potential investor, or bank, or venture contest. So don’t include outline points just because they are on a big list somewhere, or on this list, unless you’re developing a standard business plan that you’ll be showing to somebody else who expects a standard business plan.

Consider plan-as-you-go business planning. I’ve done a lot of work on this idea lately, resulting in my new “Plan As You Go” business planning, which is a now a book published by Entrepreneur Press, available through Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and Borders, and bundled as an eBook with Business Plan Pro. I’ve also added a short video here to the right, illustrating how the outline could be simpler with a new approach

Re: Writing your own business plan

Writing a business plan is not the means to an end. Writing a business plan that wins business is your objective. That said, it is essential to know what key elements, including marketing methods and business processes, are paramount to succeeding in a given market.

One of the best ways to start is by researching, examining and cross-examinging every bit of information you can possibley find regarding your competitors methods of doing business. While there are many competitors out there not all of them are truly succeeding in the market. Some are just staying afloat on income flow. Others are slowing going under. While a few may actually be in the green and growing.

Your focus should be to learn from them all but primarily on those who are actually successful. How? many companies online have taken the time to due the research and gather another companies business plan, from mission to marketing to business process. With these resources at your disposal now it is easier then ever to get your hands on your competitors business plan.
