I use a lot of the governments resources. It is amazing how many different resources that are out there but they are often difficult to find. Sometimes it takes years to develop a good list of relevant sites.

We look at 10k reports and annual reports. Also in any industry there is an association which represents it and they generally have some good resources available.

I think one of the best things you can do besides scanning your industry is look at some of the details of the winners of the Malcolm Baldridge award they provide you insight into some of the best companies
