So i had a thought the other day, that i wanted to have a hobby blog aside from the professional blog that i currently write. Has anyone done this and possibly made a monetary outcome from it? The only reason i ask this is because i understand the current state of the economy and the need for people to find little tidbits of income here and there.

The only successful way I have seen it is to use something like joomla for the blog and then ad a plug in for a shopping cart and sell the items you are discussing about with the blog. However, you need to build up traffic first to get any readers to your site. Good luck!

It's definitely possible. People are using vehicles, such as WordPress to do such things.
I would however recommend getting your own domain name with the softare itself, as this does help ensuring people that you didn't just create a free account somewhere- like a spammer, and actually put the money into what you're talking about.
