2. Yoga instructor: You don’t need a studio to teach yoga; just like a personal trainer, you can visit clients at their homes or offices. The Yoga Alliance Web site provides information on yoga schools, certification, insurance, and more.

3. Tutoring: You can start a business tutoring students in their homes, at schools, or at local YMCAs or other child-care organizations. Talk to your local school district officials and school principals to determine their needs.

Re: home based business

Starting your own business can be the best decision of your life. It can end up paying huge dividends both financially and in terms of satisfaction. But the sad fact is half of new businesses fail within the first three years, and it's often down to basic mistakes. So here are a few things you should keep in mind at all times when starting on your new business venture.

Many people successfully make a living from selling other people's products, and if this is the path you want to take then finding a good supplier will be central to your success. It pays to thoroughly research different suppliers to make sure that you have got the best deal. It goes without saying that the more the supplier wants to charge you, the less profitable your own business will be. But you also need to take into account the reputation and reliability of the supplier. A cheap supplier is no good if they go into liquidation and leave you unable to fulfil your customer's orders.

Employing the right calibre of staff is also paramount. You can have a watertight business plan and the greatest supplier, but with poor staff your business may not survive long enough to turn a profit. Not only can the operational side of your new business suffer from incompetent staff, it can put off potential customers if service is poor.

Think about your marketing strategy before you start. Your new shop, for example, may stock great products and have friendly, helpful staff but if noone is aware it's there you might struggle to get people through the door. Come up with a realistic deadline for opening the business. If you miss your advertised opening date it creates a bad first impression and will give you a poor reputation before you even start trading.

Research, preparation and hard work are essential to giving your business the best chance of being successful and profitable.

Re: home based business

Hi

Home based business is so simple yet requires careful analysis and guidance before getting involved into it. Starting online home based business seems more profitable and demanding now a day. However there are lots of website you will find that tells you that you get rich overnight. I was caught by these websites initially when I have searched internet to find legitimate home based business opportunities. Most of the website I have visited looks promising and on each website I got feeling that no body can now stop me from becoming rich. But I was wrong most of them are scam and didn’t deliver the information I was looking for. I have spent 1000’s of dollar while seeking online home based business opportunities. But all of my money was wasted.

Thanks

Re: home based business

I have been a work at home employee for 5+ years. I started with a company who allowed people to work from home as a design analyst. Over the last year I began my own consulting company that is also home based. Working from home is great. You set your own hours, you can spend time with family, and can work in your pj's. The only downside is sometimes it is hard to pull yourself away from work. I generally work 10-14 hours per day since my office is right by my bedroom.
