Hello all!
I have a site that deals with child psychiatry.
I wanted to open a blog for it, and I wanted to ask you if you think it will be useful to open a blog for this kind of website, will it be useful? will it drive me more traffic?

The best idea would be to have a general pharmaceutical blog or a general medicine blog. Update the blog frequently and try to popularize it. You can definitely use it to promote your website through this blog.
But make a general medicine blog that you think the viewers might read. Dont post things that are of no interest to your blog visitors.

I totally agree with you anniephillips.
If you want to market your site through your blog I believe that, it would help you drive more traffic to your site. Of course, it depends upon your blog. You must write a very interesting topic for you blog. Think of a beautiful topic that readers may find a very interesting one to read on.

Hello!
I think that having a blog is a long-term outlook.
It doesn't bring immediate result. And you will have much work to do. Blog should differ from others by its original and unique content written by yourself.
And i agree it should have general medical content.
Btw, I'm not a medic but i'm subscribed to medical blog, because it's interesting.

I agree, a blog will help you bring more visitors to your site but you have to consider the fact that a blog is another website that you have to manage and update frequently. So now instead of one website to worry about you have two. The extra time required for a blog may or may not be worth it to you, depending on a number of factors. But in general it's a good idea, especially if you talk about a variety of subjects as the blog is more likely to be found in search engines that way.

Agree, it's a big time investment. You'll need to research, or be very knowledgeable about the subject and make sure every post is informative and of genuine interest to visitors.
You can do a general link to your site down the side of the content in the menu, but I wouldn't link to your site much unless it's relevant within the articles themselves as it won't give visitors a good impression of why the blog is there.

Hello, usually opening a blog in order to promote your main website is a great way of generating traffic. As you know that Google does gives importance to the back links that you get from other sites, it is always beneficial to link up your blog with your main site. As a matter of fact it is going to be even better if you can actually open more than one blog. This way you get more sites linking back to your main site.
