Re: Yahoo or Google

I prefer Google I think it is easier to understand and you do not have to talk to a sales person. They are also the largest!

Re: Yahoo or Google

Considering that most people use Google for their natural search, It shall be expected to get better results from Google PPC.

Re: Yahoo or Google

We do not use MSN with our limited advertising dollars we feel we should get the most out of one PPC model so we just use Google

Re: Yahoo or Google

I agree with mbm if you have a limited budget you should get to know one engine really well and since Google is the largest it makes sense to focus on them.

Re: Yahoo or Google

I just read somewhere about the difference in the audience between Google and Yahoo.
According to that article or blog (can't remember the source, sorry) Google is prefered by people who has some technical knowledge. Yahoo is attracting the female part of the Internet users ๐Ÿ™‚

Do not know how tru it is, but it sounds like something that might be worth to consider.

Re: Yahoo or Google

mbm thats an interesting finding do you think it is because more males are in the technical profession or just the way that Google and Yahoo approach the business?

I think both.

Also Yahoo search is integrated in one page with most if not all Yahoo services and they are more social related. Google search engine is just a search engine and it is strong their, but attract more the technical people probably.

It is hard to imagine how one girl will be attracted by the simplicity of the Google's search page, while it is completely different probably with Yahoo's entry page. But at the same time, I am a little bit puzzled by Yahoo's entry page having so many topics on it, while I only need a search box ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Yahoo or Google

Interesting I wonder if google, msn and yahoo have more detailed demographics of the people who visit theirs and other sites they search it would be great to try to target your market but there are privacy issues surrounding that. I seemed to recall reading something about msn trying to get a better picture of demographics.

Re: Yahoo or Google

They certainly have quite detailed information about their users and visitors.
