Google has already announced it will stop counting links from directories as factor in ranking websites - well, yes of course there are still other SEARCH ENGINE but let's look at directories, how many people are still using them - close to none, they use search engines more. what is the quality of link juice you'd get from it - divided and very low. if you check your site data, out of hundreds of directory efforts you made, you'd only see a few that actually contributes. so my advice is, go for another technique that could actually be worth your time and your client's money.
