One of the best is to build a list. opt list or mailing list. But all the others mentioned above are all good ideas, social networking and blogging. It may take some time and effort to build a list, but with the right training or education would be easier then you think.

If you have your own social media network site that you are trying to promote, I hope it has something innovative above an beyond what people can find at MySpace, Facebook, etc. To be successful, your site will need something that makes it unique and go viral. Hopefully it is going after some niche demographic not already covered by the big SM networks out there. Otherwise, the likelihood of you ever getting much in the way of traffic is slim to none (probably closer to none).

I am using Onlywire, and manually signed up with all of the social bookmarking networks, in bookmarking my content, so i can get indexed faster by Google, Bing, YaHoO!, Ask, Dogpile, Cuil, and many more, in getting traffic and better search engine rankings. AOL is also good too, in sending me free traffic from their social bookmarking section. Gotta love these guys! =)
