Word of mouth marketing that can span the globe in seconds and cost virtually nothing? That's the promise of Social Media Marketing. Knowing what it is and knowing how to do it are two vastly different things.
Just go to Facebook and see how many businesses have started pages that went nowhere. See how many tweets went over like a t**d in a punchbowl. Do you really have time (or budget) to do what it takes to make SMM work? Now don't get me wrong, you can really leverage time and budget with SMM.
If you can make your Facebook page engaging, and drive enough traffic to it to make it go viral then you have a marketing juggernaut.
