Re: What is google sandbox?

Google Sandbox is a theory used to explain why newly-registered domains or domains with frequent ownership changes in the results misclassified Search Engine Google Pages (SERPS). In other words, new websites are placed in a "sandbox" or a waiting area and their research notes on hold until they can prove themselves worthy of classification.

Re: What is google sandbox?

It is the term they use when you don't have stable rankings in google. New pages has that effect on google's SERP. What you can do is continue your link building for this page, build up it's reputation and authority and monitor it for a few weeks. After some good link building techniques I'm pretty sure that you will gain better and more like fixed ranking for your page (if it is truly a worthy page - its not all about link building)

Sometimes when keywords ranking fluctuate, people think it is sandbox but there are a lot of possibilities why this has happend:

Your site could be just new and still is considered to be in the sandbox
your competitors are beating you
you need to update your site SEO
your site does not comply with the rules and guidelines of the site
there are problems in your pages (use webmaster tools to help you)

The Sandbox (a.k.a. Sandboxing or the sandbox effect or the Google penalty) is a name given to an observation about the way Google ranks web pages in its index

Re: What is google sandbox?

Some programmers have viewed Google as uncomfortable to rank newer websites until they have proven their viability to exist for more than a period of some months. Thus the term "Sandbox Effect" applies to the idea that all new websites have their ratings placed in a holding tank until such time is deemed appropriate before a ranking can commence.
If the site shows high number of inbound links at the beginning Google finds that to be rather suspicious, those links are not considered natural; in other words, humans would not be able to build as many links in a short period of time just through manual work, some type of software was needed to do the job. Another possibility is that spam sites, or black hat sites for that matter, use various strategies to take advantage of Google and rise to the top of the search results, thus gaining heavy traffic and sales prior to being banned by Google.

Re: What is google sandbox?

Basically the sandbox effects appear to be a Google ranking filter that was added in early 2004. The sandbox filter affects almost all new web sites that were launched after this period. The net result is that the new web site is not able to rank for its competitive keywords and key phrases. Even sites containing well written and original content, solid inbound links and a high Google Page Rank are not exempt from the filter. Bear in mind, there has been much debate as to whether the sandbox actually exists or not, but most industry experts would agree that there is some dampening filter applied to newly launched sites.

Re: What is google sandbox?

According to the sandbox effect, links which may normally be weighted by Google's ranking algorithm, not least improving the position of a webpage in Google's index, may be subjected to filtering to prevent their having a full impact. Some observations have suggested that two important factors for causing this filter to come into play are the active age of a domain, and the competitiveness of the keywords used in links.

Re: What is google sandbox?

The Google Sandbox or Sandbox Effect refers to how Google treats certain newly-registered or updated domains. In short, the domains that fall into the Google Sandbox are indexed by Google, but are not able to achieve any ranking. This means that websites attached to these domains do not often appear in search results, or only appear for obscure search terms.
