Say no to link buying

What link buyers and sellers generally think is that they are smart enough to keep doing this without getting caught but they forget that Google is much smarter than they are and can catch them anytime. And once you get caught, your site surely gets sandboxed, and earns bad reputation.

Re: Say no to link buying

Buying links is against Google Webmaster Guidelines and once you're caught, your website may be banned.

Re: Say no to link buying

Everyone is correct that paid-links are generally bad, BUT I think it's important to clarify that. Although it's generally against the search engines' policies, let's not forget that they still see value in some of the more credible paid link sources, such as Yahoo Directory. Yahoo Directory is a hefty $299 per year to be included in the directory. Google still passes link equity/juice/power/whatever to your website from here.

I think it's fair to say that the bad paid-links are those that you gain from spammy websites or from companies that say they can get you some ridiculous number of links within a short amount of time (ie. 1,000 links in 1 week!). Those are all bad and can hurt you because SEO link building is about organic growth.

Hope this helps!
