Re: Meta Title and Description Tags

According to Google search engine,

  • Put prominent keyword which has high volume, low competition and related to your site in the first place in the title tag and put secondary keyword at the end of your title but don’t forget that your title should not be more than 67 to 70 characters.
  • Make description 155 characters long in which one can use prominent and secondary keyword once in the description by adding information about your webpage/website means about the webpage/services/products.

From what I have read, google ignores meta tags and titles, so I don't think you need to worry about it. 🙂

First of all, what you have heard is wrong, secondly, even if google and other search engines don't weigh what your meta tags has to offer, people who will find them through search engine will still care. Do you think a site with a lame title and description in search engine results will get visitors? of course not.

Re: Meta Title and Description Tags

In keyword selection your keywords must belong to your concern area in which you are dealing, if your website deals about website design and development then your keyword can be web design, web development and many more.. During meta tag description you must use those keywords in your description. For keyword selection you can take the help of a google keyword tool.

Re: Meta Title and Description Tags

Whether you’re a beginner in SEO or a seasoned pro, it’s important to keep up on how your pages will be displayed in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) across each engine.

Google shows ** Characters (Including Spaces) for Page Title.

Google shows 156 Characters (Including Spaces) for Meta Description.

It should also be known that if you don’t include a Meta Description or if Google feels a better description for your page could be given by using a web snippet, then the description shown can be up to 320 characters. Of course, they won’t be the characters that you choose so they might not best represent what you wish your audience to see in the SERP’s.
