I am suggesting some tips to maintain keyword ranking:-
1)Include keyword in anchor text that you are going to target.
2)Verify it with W3C validation.So that,you will be error free and do not forget to add alt tag with keywords.
3)Add keyword in meta tags like title and description.
4)Prepare a sitemap for both users and crawler.
5)Participate in Forum posting,Article posting and Blog commenting and try to collect backlinks.
6)Try to get as many as incoming links by doing off page submission and make sure the site should be do follow sites.

There are a few ways.....

1. You need to continue doing link building for those keywords, not as much as initially but keep doing it.
2. You need to have a blog of some type and post at least once a week with related keywords in your post to show google your website is being updated with new content
3. You should check out your website constantly on google webmaster tools for 404 errors and other things.

It is very differcult to maintain keyword ranking but on search engine keywords do position change every moments. But one thing which we can do that is continue doing monitoring and working on daily base so that possibility of our ranking will increase.
