Hello i have a client based in America i am in the UK and always use a UK hosting company,because her customers will be in America i presume it would be best for her site to be on an American server is this way of thinking correct if so can you recommend a good company PHP and MySQL are needed

Not necessarily.
Reason for this: you can access sites from half-way across the world just perfectly, thanks to technology 🙂
I think what you are talking about is the difference between your american client being able to end all domain names in the more popular american ".com" versus the more UK popular ".co.uk"
If she is not able to register .coms through you and is stuck with .co.uk addresses while promoting an american based business- that could be a problem (that is, if her market isn't global and is concentrated on american interests specifically).

You can get the hosting here http://www.tucktail.com/ and also get the domain name register, domain appraisal, online file folder, ssl certificate etc...
