Freelance Contractor VS Web Development firms -

best way to get your site made?
What is the best way to get a complete site with database created?

My primary goal is to get it done CORRECTLY, but like everyone else I do have a budget. Are local development firms the way to go for advanced projects with large databases, or can freelancers handle it? Should I avoid freelancers for such a big important project or will they do the exact same thing but for cheaper?

Re: Freelance Contractor VS Web Development firms -

We have used Guru.com – Find freelancers at the world’s largest online service marketplace. before with mixed results if the freelancer has any negative feedback do not hire them because for the most part it seems everyone gets good reviews we have used a couple of the providers for over 3 years so we have been happy with some of them.

You can save a lot with a freelancer but make sure that it is a full time role and not someone who will get to you when they can. I would also suggest that you go to templatemonster.com or a similar site and buy a template to get the project off to a jump start

The modules are easy to install. Just FTP them into a folder in most cases and they will work. It's possible, with some good research, to get Drupal to do what you want without touching any code. Being and Open Source product means there is good support online through the community. There is also good documentation, an API for third party Developers and an IRC channel for you to chat. Drupal is documented in many languages. Best Acne Medicine SMART LIPOSUCTION

Possibly one of the downsides is that the modules are mostly available in GZIP format (see below). this is not native to windows. And being so modular and having so many modules means that some of them may conflict. But you're not a Web Developer for nothing! Oh and Drupal's new template system means your graphic Designer's code will be easy to insert. The modular system makes upgrading easy and Drupal will support multiple sites running of the one CMS.

Re: Freelance Contractor VS Web Development firms -

I would interview both if I were you. A freelancer, like myself, could offer more than a firm could just through experience. Just like a firm, a freelancer can also hire outside help if needed. Ask questions like: will you build a parallel design to my site to see what I like better, will you do usability testing, estimated time of completion, will SEO be incorporated into the design, what other websites have you built, and how are they performing.

There are several other questions to ask as well, but they depend on how much you are hands on. A firm is more likely to host your website on their server. Is that cost effective? Maybe. Do you plan on marketing the site using a service? Does the freelancer, or firm offer this?

I would write down your personal criteria, and create a side by comparison to see what best meets your needs.
