In order to start a successful blog online it is important to choose a good name. The name of your website should reflect what your website is about. Choose a name that is easy to remember. A name that easily identifies with what your website is all about.
Picture
Make an icon or add some sort of picture to your blog. An icon or picture builds recognition. A picture of yourself somewhere on your website is not a bad idea at all. Trackbacks and pingbacks are also useful if you are extending the conversation outside the original blog. These are an excellent tools to invite traffic, develop relationships with other bloggers, and build links to your blog.

Also - reach out to popular bloggers to offer guest posts. Building up a readership via other popular blogs is the fastest way. Additionally focus effory on getting people to suscribe to your rss and promote sharing buttons on your blog content to enable your readers to "spread the word".
Be bold, but socially polite in your comments and content so not to get shun in the blogosphere.

Here are some of the most important tips for blog traffic:
-Keyword research: the keyword you use should be related to what people are more likely to be searching for. The title tag and name of the article should contain the keywords. Using H1 and H2 tags and bold fonts help as well.
-Interesting and unique content: as we all know, content is the king. This is the best way to get people to read your blog and also rank higher on search engines. Your English should be impeccable.

Besides commenting on other Blogs, it can also be useful to put a clear Headline with under it a specific Question for your readers to answer to provoke your readers to get involved, and to write Comments, because with many Comments on your posts this Social Proof can sitimulate to Bookmark and Re-visit your Blog Frequently. You can also use a Recent Comments-widget to attract the attention to the fact that there is Readers Feedback on your Blog.
