Hello,
1.Take note: federal law now makes electronic contracts and electronic signatures as legal and enforceable as those on paper.
2.Consider what advantages e-contracts might have for your business. Some companies will be able to conduct their business entirely on line, often with great savings.
3.Be aware that if you start using e-contracts, you have to let customers know whether paper contracts are available and what fees might apply for the paper agreements.
4.Proceed with caution. The law does not define what an electronic signature is, and e-signature technology is still evolving.
5.Visit these Web sites for more legal information: the American Bar Association , or www.nolo.com, a site that specializes in legal issues.
Thanks
Re: 5 Tips on Electronic Contracts
Hello,
1. Shop around for electronic contract software that you can use for all of your online legal forms.
2. Include updated contact information for all parties involved in your electronic contract.
3. Manipulate aspects of your standard contract that are variable based on your customers.
4. Add an electronic signature section to your contract for each party involved.
5. Request a hard copy of every electronic contract you send out. In addition to the electronic signature section, you should include a standard
signature line for every group involved in the actions bound by the contract.
Thank you
Nadia
Re: 5 Tips on Electronic Contracts
Hello,
Similar to a regular signature, an electronic signature is an electronic mark that is added to the work, letter, or whatever is being transferred on the computer. Basically, a person will apply that signature to the information showing his or her intent to sign. The thing is that it's important that a particular mark be assigned to a particular person. This way, there is proof that the person had full intent to sign, and that the data that is being transferred hasn't been tampered with at all.
Thank You
Amy
Re: 5 Tips on Electronic Contracts
It is not the handwritten part of your signature that makes a signed PDF secure and legally binding, it is the encrypted, computer generated parts of the digital signature, the handwritten signature is, ultimately, just an embellishment of the digital signature.
