Is it better to strike out on your own or be part of a team of consultants?

I would suggest you strike out on your own then find what things you like and dont about the business and your strengths and weaknesses and hire someone to complement you.

Re: On your own or part of a team?

In my opinion Both. Have a way/stream of generating income on your own using your strengths. At the same time, be a part of a team, contribute and generate revenue. That way you can have a steady and stable growth of business. Also, depends on the personality, values of business owner. Initially starting on your own and doing a SWOT analysis is a way to go. Thereafter, focus on your strengths and build on it. Hire employees or sub cons for areas you need help.

In this environment I would rather be part of a team or company - let them eat the losses - but when the market turns my answer would be different

well it all depend upon the type of business you are running, sometimes it is better to walk alone and take all the risks but sometimes it is better to be part of some team

Re: On your own or part of a team?

It is always better to be a part of team rather than being on your own, in a team work gets distributed as well as a person develops here. The efficiency of the work gets better in a team. A person becomes good to be in a team and so prospers.

Yeah I would also like to say a team is always be the first priority because in a team there is less chances of risk and loss.

Re: On your own or part of a team?

For me it is better to begin with on your own. After analyzing the depth of the water and your potentials you can start a team and become a leader and lead your staffs.

Re: On your own or part of a team?

There are small things that can be done alone and there are things that can be done better by a team. having a team doesn't necessarily mean better every time as there will be a lot of issues such as your team's performance,

On my Blog(s) there frequently are readers that write Comments on Blogposts, and I answer them back, and they even have a possibility to
also write Replies on Comments from other readers, making it into actual Conversations. This way such Conversations with also - Input - from the readers can make it into a Team Effort.

It depends on business type but consultation is always good option to take any step whether its big step or small.
