Hi there!
Can someone recommend a good, free, software used to track how much time is spent on different websites. I want to track how much time is spent on websites that are not related to work in my company. I would be great if this app has ability to send reports on e-mail about internet usage on each computer. Thanks.

Re: Free Internet monitoring software?

I have used statcounter for some of my blogs and websites.

It is free and easy to use

You might want to look into that one. (freestats.com is another one you may want to look into)

Re: Free Internet monitoring software?

Depends how detailed you want to have it: check browser plugins/extensions.

An example: Time Tracker for google chrome can tell you how many minutes/hours you spend on a site - not every individual page, but the overall site: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mokmnbikneoaenmckfmgjgjimphfojkd

There are a few other, also for the Firefox browser.

Re: Free Internet monitoring software?

CyberSieve allows you to protect your children from widespread pernicious Internet content. CyberSieve filters web sites containing *ographic, satanic, extremist, etc. information. Also, CyberSieve allows you to limit Internet access time and amount of downloaded data to prevent your children from downloading *ographic films or non-licensed software. Moreover, CyberSieve has a built-in e-mail notification system. It will send you e-mail messages when every banned web site has been visited. You can receive a full copy of your child computer's screen at the moment of blocking.

Re: Free Internet monitoring software?

Employee monitoring software is a necessity for companies nowadays. Especially on those employees that work from home. You might wanna check out TimeDoctor, I've heard great things about that software.
One small advice though, there are so many choices of online time tracking tools. You might think they will all be tracking time accurately but sadly, most of them are flawed. So, I suggest, you'd do some research first, read reviews, or even try it out for free (if it's available).
I've just recently bumped into a blog that I think would give you tips on how to find the most suited software you'd been wanting to have. Click here.

I am actually little confused, The OP has asked about a software that can be used to monitor the actual time a user spends in a website that is not related to the company. Where as the replies have been a little wayward. Some are telling him about the traffic stats some are talking about a user spending time in a site. The OP's question is that in his office he want to track how much time a user/staff is spending in other sites which are essentially not related to work!
