# Identify the personal issues. What are the personalities of the people who will be influential in the decision to sign the agreement? What are their personal motivations? Growth/expansion? Hot buttons? Family? Loyalty and commitment to the company they represent? Business process simplification? Eventual merger/acquisition?

# Identify the PR potential of the joint agreement. Why is it hot news? To whom, in particular? How can you leverage these PR possibilities in negotiating the deal? How do they add value to the overall equation? Be careful in announcing so-called "strategic alliances" where only a purchase of equipment or services was made.

# To insure that the partnership will successfully evolve, commit the necessary resources to insure that the deal is implemented and periodically evaluated. Set guidelines and performance metrics as part of the deal. Involve senior management in every step of the way. Assign a single point of accountability for the deal.

# Business development is much more than simply going to trade shows and being a wheeler dealer. Business development is hard work and you must stay focused on the long term. Hopefully the above tips will help you whether you are experienced in biz dev or if the role of business development was thrust upon you due to layoffs, firings or other factors.

1. The ability to listen: Most leaders do too much talking but not enough listening. Feedbacks to your company's services or products are important to you as they demonstrate the customers' needs.

2. The ability to acknowledge and change: This is probably the hardest part to do. People often refuse to change. They believe their services or products are the best, which, there's nothing wrong with that. But when there are feedbacks coming from customers you have to listen, then acknowledge them and make changes to provide better customer service

3. The ability to form one-on-one relationships: People will need to be able to reach you. If you are just starting a business it's especially important for you to be able to spend some time to get to know your customers, and/or employees. If you do that, over time, you will develop a strong trust between you and your customers.

4. Successful people make sure they surround themselves with like-minded people. I'm not saying millionaires should just ignore the poor. But you need to spend time to communicate with like-minded people. You cannot survive by yourself, and by interacting with others you can motivate others or give others a chance to motivate you

5. The ability to know yourself: It is very important to know what you're best at, and what are your weaknesses. A business is a team sport. Often one cannot handle all the aspects of a business. You need to know when to seek for assistance. There's no shame on that.

A leader has to have qualities to lead a group and the ability to make friends. A leader should have confidence in himself and should have a sense of humour.

Re: Characteristics of a Successful Leader

There's definitely a few more characteristics to add to this list. I've been in a leadership position since youth.

The most popular of the notable traits are of course listening. many people however, don't don't possess he steadfastness to continue the task of leadership. Other notable traits to have include:

1.Patience: having the ability to see and wait for things or results that others are too hasty to see is a great strength.

2. Intuition: knowing how to spot a healthy risk from an irresponsible decision is very difficult to do but a good leader will have this, mostly gained from experience.

3. Surrounding yourself with people smarter than yourself. basically why do it all when you can hire or collaborate with others who can help take you or your business to greater success.

There are many more , but I feel these are some of the core ones that make or break a great leader.

That's interesting to me. Sometimes, I always think that we can be successful if only we ourselves have been doing good, and this has nothing to do with others.

Now after reading this one, I know I'm wrong. Communicate with others, especially with like-minded people, we can learn a lot and expand our knowledge.

If you're wanting someone to write the essay for you, then that's plagiarism, and it definitely isn't characteristic of a good online student.Svj Moving
