Business Organization Tips

Hey everyone,

I am kind of a nerd and love writing and learning about new ways to organize your business information and business processes. Some of my favorite ways to organize this business information are to de-clutter my office and computer desktop by utilizing folders and files for information, using a online business solution to keep tasks, files and conversations organized, and to plan out your day as much as possible.

Are there other tips that you swear by that I'm not aware of yet? Let me know! It'll definitely help me out, and probably be used as inspiration for upcoming articles to help others keep organized.

Re: Business Organization Tips

Purchase Magazine boxes to store booklets, magazines, catalogs you want to keep.

Create a file for magazine articles or scan them into your computer.

Filing system should be simple easy and manageable.

Color-coding your files makes it faster to find information.

Do not over stuff folders. It may be time to toss some of the information in the folder .

Never overload filing drawer. It will make it difficult to retrieve information in the drawers.

Sub-divide larger files with interior file folders.

Tab hanging file folders in the front.

Keep your ego under control
Don't take profits and spend them on expensive toys to impress others. Build a war chest for unexpected needs or opportunities. This also means hearing out new ideas and suggestions no matter how crazy they sound.

Re: Business Organization Tips

Hi

Specify Activities
# The first step toward organizing a group endeavor is to divide the task into fundamental activities. For example, an industrial enterprise should have these major functions: production, financing, purchasing, sales and personnel.
Classify Activities
# The next step is to classify activities according to similarities, purposes, functions and considering human and physical resource requirements. For each class of activity, a department (and sub-class section in the department) may be assigned. For example, various activities related to production can be grouped and classified as production department activities.
Assign Individuals to Functions
# After ascertaining various activities, the next step is to assign them to a group of qualified individuals to carry them out. Each team member will receive a meaningful portion of the job and be responsible for it. There should be unity of direction; i.e., all activities should be directed toward the same end.

Thanks
