5 Tips to Jump Start a New Business

The WSJ had an article yesterday about using Youtube as a marketing tool for businesses. Of the 501 adults that were surveyed, 59% had viewed a video ad on the internet of those 43% checked out the website, 22% requested information about the product and 18% went to the store to check it out and 15% made a purchase - what do you think? Is this a great medium for small businesses?

Hello

*

Create a brand. Spend a little money to create a professional logo, business card and stationery. Present a professional image.
*

Ramp up Online. Make creating a Web site a top priority. A Web site is today’s calling card. You really shouldn’t do without one. Give people a place to go to learn about your business.
*

Make Your First Sale. This is key. Get that first sale even if it’s friends or family at a discounted rate. This counts as getting started, so go for it.
*

Promote Testimonials. Get testimonials from your first sales. Start building credibility for your business from day one.
*

Build Buzz. Be creative. Look for a special promotion, big event, email campaign or something out of the norm for your business to get people talking about you, your product or service.

Keep sharing and reading
Thanks

Re: 5 Tips to Jump Start a New Business

The website is so important! Today, if people are looking for you and they don't find your website, they think you are not a serious business. One of the best things you can do to pump up your image is a good website.

I recommend Network Solutions to my clients because you don't have to hire a designer. You can create a website much less expensively than hiring it done. This is the most economical place I've found so far to create a site if you are not familiar with programming or don't have a lot of computer technical skills.

I created one for my clients who are attorneys using this solution. You can see how their site looks by going to hilgerlaw.com. I had this up in about an hour.
