Free vs Pay

I am trying to decide how much of our product we give away for free versus sell. Obviously the more information you give away, the greater the traffic but the less revenue - I was wondering how everyone else balanced this?

Re: Free vs Pay

I would give away some product but you should get something in return i.e. email then you could run a training series and sell up on expensive product

Re: Free vs Pay

This is the age old complaint get more traffic by giving away free stuff or not - I vote for getting more traffic and using ads to get more business.

Re: Free vs Pay

I would use free stuff to engage them and then I would gradually offer them more value added products for an additional fee

Re: Free vs Pay

Pay is best idea to increase traffic on your site.
It is costly but it is more beneficial as compare to free.

Re: Free vs Pay

There is nothing free today, if you want to get something, you have to give something....

Re: Free vs Pay

It's always hard to decide where to put the border between free and paid.

I would say that accessing free content user needs to get something valuable that gives his a felling of participation but on the other side he should be aware that there is something more and he will be able to get it only when he pays.

That means that free stuff should be good but paid - much much better.

Re: Free vs Pay

Indeed, Most companies will have to measure what is presented to give good feedback.

If we have clear indicators. The decision is easy.

Re: Free vs Pay

I am not making that descision, I let the prospects/customers make that descision!

'Currently they can have both,'

I have a tiny little ebook that you can buy online, (btw you can also Preview part of it). It is also possible to get it for Free as a Bonus when you buy an interesting Report about Getting Traffic,
btw. you can find this - Bonus - Offer near the top at the right side of the - Home Business Lifestyle blog - (first clicking the signature-link below this reply)
Since in the tiny little ebook you can also find an active link to my Main Blog, the people that enjoyed reading it are able to become enthousiastic enough to bookmark that blog and might become
the future buyers of any of the products I (pre) sell on my blog. (so I don't really mind that much if they buy it or grab it as a free Bonus)

All the Best,
