We use Mailwasher Mailwasher Anti Spam Software: The Reliable Free Spam Blocker to run our emails through to get rid of all the spam. It works great. It is amazing how much junk mail we get.

We use Norton as well but I was recently searching for software and I saw that there is some public domain applications listed here Security Software I am not sure how well they work but I thought it was interesting that they were in the public domain - I do not know if that makes them more or less vulnerable to hacks

For anti virus and Internet threads Norton is the best.
However, I do not think that it is security software. It is just an antivirus software.

Many people use products like Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky and ESET because they fell safe when they've paid for it, thinking it must be good. However, this isn't always the case. Norton and McAfee are the main culprits for hogging resources and having not so good detection rates. Above all, they are expensive. Out of this category, I would recommend Kaspersky, ESET or avast! Internet Security.
