How often do you look at your operations and try to improve the quality and productivity? What type of analysis do you perform?

Re: Improving your operation

We look at it every day but do not do a detailed analysis unless there is a big fluctuation from our estimates

Re: Improving your operation

We look for user feedback and then evaluate the cost/benefit of the improvements - sometimes do it and sometimes we do not.

We take a very similar approach when looking at our operational issues.

Re: Improving your operation

We time various activities and steps in the process and ask our selves if the steps are necessary - we try to eliminate as many as possible that do not add value

Re: Improving your operation

I review our operations with the management team on a monthly basis with certain reports generated by the different divisions. I believe this is key to keep up the productivity with the demand. Also, this assists with the morale and keeps the employees engaged as feeling as part owners and value-add.

Re: Improving your operation

We are mostly revenue focused on sales and then we look at turnaround time which is always a more difficult figure to look at because it is mostly dependent on the client.

We always open to our customer's feedback and suggestion and find solutions to their problems the best we can.

Re: Improving your operation

Hello
Today’s successful retailers are dramatically improving their operating efficiency. To do so, they need to consider three important tactics: 1) Leveraging customer demand data to make fact-based decisions. 2) Revamping their pricing strategies based on customer demand data. 3) Improving supplier collaboration with regard to promotions, product development and supply chain management.
Thanks

Re: Improving your operation

We use a time tracking device for our clients, this allows us to monitor areas of an individual clients campaign that we may need to charge more for. It gives a great overview of a clients needs and helps us streamline our work flow as well as giving insight to where we need to hire more staff.

Re: Improving your operation

Hello
If you are plating with a chloride zinc solution, you are likely enjoying the benefits of cyanide elimination, improved bath efficiency, and exceptional brightness. As with any plating system, however, you are probably encountering one or more routine operational problems and taking them for granted.

The root causes of, and practical solutions for, five common problems associated with chloride zinc plating are addressed here. The problem areas are solution "growth," deterioration of titanium anode baskets, brightener oilout, color chromate adhesion, and treatment and removal of iron ftom the bath.
Solution Growth

Due to the wetting agents in a chloride zinc bath, the plating solution will shed better than the rinsewater that's dragged in. This results in a growing volume of plating solution. To minimize or eliminate this problem:

1. Add an approved wetting agent to the acid pickle to reduce surface tension and increase rinsewater shedding.
2. Increase the dwell time and/or barrel rotation rate above the rinse so that more rinsewater will shed prior to the plating stage.
3. Use the same rinse tank for d ragout and drag-in. With this setup, the dragged-out plating solution reduces the surface tension of, or "wets," the rinse.
4. Use an atmospheric evaporator activated by a solution level control (Fig. 1). Depending on the prevailing humidity, at room temperature these units will evaporate 5 to 15 gal/hr, which will more than compensate for solution growth. A low-foaming bath must be employed.

Re: Improving your operation

Benchmarking is the process of comparing the business processes and performance metrics including cost, cycle time, productivity, or quality to another that is widely considered to be an industry standard benchmark or best practice. Essentially, benchmarking provides a snapshot of the performance of your business and helps you understand where you are in relation to a particular standard. The result is often a business case and "Burning Platform" for making changes to make improvements.

Re: Improving your operation

Companies are often very inefficient and don't realize their full potential for profit. You can improve business operations several ways, but you must evaluate all of the options before you inaugurate a new plan.

Improving business operations requires the input from managers in all the other departments. What may be a good idea to you may not be possible once other professionals speak up.
